Hello my name is Connor and I’m the Outdoor and Sport worker here at Royston Youth Action. This role consists of several outdoor and sports activities. Such as Skiing, Snowboarding, Cycling, Walking, Kayaking, Canoeing, Football and Basketball. Other activities include our new annual colour run which we hope will continue to grow year on year.
Working with children and young people.
Children clubs are fitness through play, indoor and outdoor activities, teambuilding and workshops on topical subjects. Organize children residential with the local schools
Young people, working in schools delivering accredited citizenship awards and transition workshops.
As one of the sessional children’s worker at RYA, it is my job to organise the clubs and activities for all Primary 1 – Primary 7 children. I plan workshops, games, and activities for the clubs and am responsible for making sure all the children benefit from the sessions. I began at RYA as a student placement in 2015 and have been loving it ever since!

I also do sessional youth work, this involves regular workshops discussing: social issues they may face and how to help change the world they live in for the better , personal and health based classes, youth forum for helping the community, and overall being there to support the young people, and help with any problems they have in their day to day life.

Part Time Funding Officer: Responsible for researching possible funding opportunities to assist in achieving the Royston Business Plan and financial sustainability for the organisation.

I am one of the sessional children’s workers for rya .
It is my job to plan sessions for the children’s clubs and I also help run the tot and carers club .
I started as a volunteer at rya 5 years ago and a year ago I became a children’s worker and have been enjoying it ever since.
